These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Paimaish website (this site) and the Paimaish mobile apps (together, the "Service"), provided by Nirwan Goel ("we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Using the Service
Paimaish is a free tool for converting between Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Rajasthan revenue land units (such as Kanal, Marla, Bigha, Biswa and Biswansi) and standard units (such as Acre, Hectare and Square Feet). It is available as an iOS app on the App Store, as an Android app currently in closed testing on Google Play, and as a converter you can use directly on this website. You may use it for personal, professional, or commercial reference purposes, provided you don't misuse it — for example, by attempting to disrupt the Service, reverse-engineer it for resale, or interfere with other users.
Android closed testing
The Android app is distributed through Google Play's closed testing programme while it is in pre-release. If you sign up as a tester, you agree that:
- you will provide the Gmail address of a Google account you control, and use it only to join the test yourself;
- the test build is pre-release software provided for evaluation. It may contain defects, produce incorrect results, or stop working, and the "no warranty" and "limitation of liability" sections below apply to it in full — with particular force, given it is unfinished;
- we may add, decline, or remove any tester at our discretion, and may end the test, change the build, or withdraw it at any time without notice;
- your access to and use of the build is also governed by Google Play's own terms, and Google may collect crash and diagnostic data under its own privacy policy;
- you will not redistribute, publish, or resell the test build or its APK.
Google requires testers to remain opted in continuously for 14 days before an app can be promoted to public release. We ask that you stay in the test for at least that long, but you are free to leave at any time and nothing here obliges you to remain.
Nothing in the test programme creates an employment, agency, or partnership relationship, and testing is unpaid and voluntary. How we handle your email address is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Feedback and submissions
The feedback form lets you send us bug reports, corrections, feature requests and general comments ("Feedback"). Using it is optional, and what happens to the information you enter is set out in our Privacy Policy — in short, it is stored in a private Google Sheet we control. The same applies to the Android tester sign-up form.
When you submit Feedback, you agree that:
- the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you are not impersonating anyone else;
- you will not submit unlawful, abusive, defamatory, misleading or infringing content, malware, or automated or bulk submissions;
- you will not submit sensitive personal information — your own or anyone else's — including Aadhaar numbers, Khasra, Khewat or Jamabandi identifiers, financial details, or the names of other parties to a land transaction. You confirm you have the right to share anything personal you do send us;
- you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, reproduce and adapt your Feedback for the purpose of operating and improving the Service, without any obligation to compensate you. We will not publish your name or email address without your permission;
- we are under no obligation to reply to, act on, or implement any Feedback, and we may delete any submission — in particular one that is spam, abusive, or contains information we asked you not to send.
Feedback is not a support contract or a channel for legal notices, and sending it creates no confidentiality obligation on our part beyond what the Privacy Policy describes. For anything urgent or formal, email advnirwangoel@gmail.com.
We may suspend or block access to the feedback form, or withdraw it entirely, if it is misused.
No warranty on accuracy — please verify official records
Paimaish is intended as a reference and convenience tool. Karam lengths and unit definitions vary by district, tract, and settlement system, and we've made a good-faith effort to reflect commonly used figures accurately. However, Paimaish is not a substitute for official land records, a licensed surveyor, or a registered revenue official. Do not rely on Paimaish alone for legal, financial, or transactional decisions involving land — always verify figures against the relevant official revenue records (e.g. Jamabandi, Fard, or your local Patwari/revenue office) before acting on them.
No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that conversion results will be accurate for every record or jurisdiction.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, including any decisions made based on conversion results and any loss, delay, or non-delivery of Feedback you submit.
Intellectual property
The Paimaish name, logo, design, and app content are owned by us or our licensors. The website's source code is licensed under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0, and its written content and design under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 — in short, noncommercial use and unmodified sharing are permitted with attribution to Nirwan Goel, but commercial use, modification, and redistribution of modified versions require our prior written permission. The Paimaish name and logo are not covered by these licenses and may not be used to identify any other product or service without permission.
Third-party links and services
The Service may link to or rely on third-party resources — including the Apple App Store, Google Play and the Google Play Console (through which the closed test is run), Google Fonts, and Google Apps Script and Google Sheets, which receive and store feedback submissions and tester sign-ups. We aren't responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those third parties, and their availability is outside our control.
Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Termination
We may suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time, including removing the app from the App Store or taking this website offline.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
