This Privacy Policy explains how Paimaish ("Paimaish", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Paimaish website (this site) and the Paimaish mobile apps (together, the "Service"). Paimaish is developed and published by Nirwan Goel.
The short version
Paimaish is a unit-conversion tool. All conversions run locally in your browser or on your device — nothing you type into the converter (values, units, region, rate, or any land record details) is sent to us or stored on any server we operate.
There are two exceptions, and both only ever happen because you choose them: the feedback form, and the sign-up for the Google Play closed test. Each is described in full below.
Information we collect
We do not require an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or land record details through the converter itself.
The website may generate standard web server logs through our hosting provider (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability purposes. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on this website.
Beyond that, the only information we collect is what you submit through the feedback form or the Android tester sign-up form.
Feedback you send us
The feedback form lets you report a bug, flag a conversion that looks wrong, request a feature, or tell us what you think. Submitting it is entirely voluntary — you can use every part of the Service without ever doing so — and nothing is sent until you press "Send feedback".
What a submission records. When you submit the form we store:
- the feedback type and which version of Paimaish you're using (website, iOS app, or Android app);
- your rating, if you gave one;
- your message, exactly as you wrote it;
- the district or area, and the app or browser version, if you filled those in;
- your name and email address, if you chose to provide them;
- the date and time of the submission;
- your browser's user-agent string (which identifies your browser, operating system and device type) and language setting, and the address of the page you sent the feedback from — these help us reproduce bugs.
We do not store your IP address with your feedback, and the form sets no cookies.
Please don't send us other people's information. The form is for your own comments. Please leave out Aadhaar numbers, Khasra, Khewat or Jamabandi identifiers, names of other parties to a transaction, and anything else that identifies a specific person or a specific parcel of land. We don't need any of it to fix a conversion, and we'd rather not hold it. If you send it anyway, we may delete the submission.
Why we collect it, and on what basis. We use feedback solely to fix bugs, correct figures, decide what to build next, and reply to you if you asked us to. We do not use it for advertising or profiling, and we don't sell it or share it for anyone else's marketing. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form; you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us and asking us to delete your submission.
Where it's stored. Submissions are sent to a Google Apps Script endpoint and appended as rows to a private Google Sheet in a Google account controlled by Nirwan Goel — feedback and tester sign-ups go to separate tabs of the same sheet. Google LLC processes and stores this data on our behalf under its own terms and privacy policy, and its servers may be located outside India — so submitting the form involves your information being transferred and stored abroad. The Sheet is not public, not shared with any link, and not readable by other visitors to this site.
How long we keep it. We keep feedback for as long as it's useful for the purpose above, and review it periodically — as a general rule, no longer than three years from the date you sent it, unless you've asked us to delete it sooner or we still need it to resolve an issue you raised.
Android closed-testing sign-up
The Android version of Paimaish is in closed testing on Google Play. Google Play only admits accounts that we have added to a tester list by email address, so the sign-up form on our home page asks for the Gmail address of the Google account you use on the Play Store. Signing up is voluntary, and you can use every other part of the Service without it.
What a sign-up records. Your Gmail address; the phone or Android version you describe, if you filled that in; the date and time; and your browser's user-agent string and language and the page you signed up from. We do not store your IP address.
What we do with it. Your address is added to the tester list in our Google Play Console account so Google can admit you to the test, and we use it to email you about the test — when your account has been added, and if anything about the test changes. That's all. We do not add you to a mailing list, use it for marketing, or share it with anyone other than Google in order to run the test. We rely on your consent, given by ticking the box on the form, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
Google's part in it. Adding you to the test means entering your address in the Google Play Console, and Google then processes it under its own terms to grant your account access. Your participation in the test — including installing the app and any crash or diagnostic data Google collects from it — is governed by Google's own privacy policy, which we don't control.
How long we keep it. Only as long as the closed test needs it. When Paimaish is released publicly on Google Play, or if the test is abandoned, we delete the tester list and remove the addresses from the Play Console. You can ask us to remove yours sooner — email us and we'll take you off the list, though that also ends your access to the test build.
Local storage on your device
The converter saves your pinned units and conversion history directly in your browser's local storage (or on-device storage in the mobile apps) so they're available the next time you open it. This information stays on your device — it is not transmitted to us or to any third party, and clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app removes it.
Offline use
Both the website (via an installable, offline-capable web app) and the mobile apps are designed to work without an internet connection once loaded or installed. Conversion calculations always happen on-device, never on a server. The feedback and tester sign-up forms are the only parts of the site that need a connection — if you're offline they'll tell you so rather than losing what you've written.
Third-party services
This website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may process your IP address to serve font files.
Feedback submissions and Android tester sign-ups are handled by Google Apps Script and stored in Google Sheets, as described above, and tester addresses are additionally entered into the Google Play Console. Google acts as a processor for that data under its own privacy policy, which we don't control.
We don't use any other third-party embeds, analytics, or advertising services on this site at this time.
If you download a Paimaish app from the App Store or Google Play — including the closed test build — Apple or Google collects certain information as part of that transaction under its own privacy policy, which we don't control.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and feedback is transmitted over an encrypted connection to Google's servers. The Sheet holding it is restricted to the account of Nirwan Goel and protected by that account's authentication. No system is perfectly secure, though, which is another reason not to send us sensitive personal or land-record details through the form.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of the feedback you've sent or the sign-up details we hold, correct them, or delete them — email nirwan.goel@icloud.com from the address you used, or tell us enough about the submission for us to find it, and we'll act on it within a reasonable period. Because the form doesn't require an account, an anonymous submission with no name or email may be impossible for us to locate, so tell us what you can.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 or the GDPR — including withdrawing consent, objecting to processing, or complaining to a supervisory authority. We'll honour any such request we're required to.
For all other privacy questions, use the same address.
Children's privacy
The Service is a general-purpose reference tool and is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. The converter collects no personal information from anyone. The feedback form is not intended for use by children under 18, and neither is the Android tester sign-up; if you believe a child has sent us personal information through either, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if we add analytics, sync, or account features in the future — we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
